A quaint
neighbourhood in
Serangoon Gardens Estate is one of the oldest residential areas in Singapore
. The place has a centralized circle area with food stalls, shops. markets
and common amenities within the reachable walking distance from the
numerous two storeys residential homes. The whole area has been renovated
in 2001
to give it a fresher look. More recently, small cafes offering anything from
japanese food to desserts have sprouted up around the area, hence,
attracting a new younger yuppie and teenage crowd to hang out in the area.
Among the landmarks in Serangoon Gardens Estate, is the circus which houses
a large central bus stop, and the ever famous and popular 'Chomp Chomp'
Food Centre, the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church which is located along
Chartwell Drive that has a 4000 strong churchgoing population, the Trinity
Methodist Church and several old aged homes in the area. Please feel free to browse through this site for more
